When TiN is exposed to oxygen through the sputtering process, the result is a tough, protective ceramic compound, which is often used in the semiconductor industry as well as protecting and preserving machine tools. Applied to a polyester film layer, ceramic film is highly durable and contains exceptional infrared ray (IR) reflective properties.
